Pivot 140: I am listening for unity – for unity is all there is

Such a relief! Such a relief to start from the premise that each person is 100% perfect exactly as they are. It completely takes the fear out of having contact with people too! Why aren’t we taught this approach?

Schools? Schools teach children of their – and others’ – seeming imperfection.

True indeed.

Today I am meeting parents of a child who is very unwell. I am meeting with them to help them agree about an end of life care plan for their beloved little one.

You are helping them find unity.

Yes! That’s it. At the moment they are finding it hard to talk about the matter, and they disagree fundamentally on the topic of sustaining life.

Unity. You are inviting them to unity.

That’s really so helpful. I spoke to a Muslim EOL doula colleague yesterday. Such a spiritually-guided and loving woman. She lifted my heart and reminded me that we can talk about the journey of the soul, the preciousness of the marriage between the parents, and that God has the ‘the love of 70 mothers’ for us and that the soul will experience that in fullness on it’s arrival from this earthly life. She also reminded that both parents are 100% right, exactly as they are – because they love their daughter.

Speak to me today, please of how I can best support these beautiful parents in this unthinkably tragic situation.

First, beloved soul, return to the word ‘tragic’ and rephrase it.

Difficult? Heart-breaking?

Better. There is no tragedy in life or in death, but there is the struggle of accepting and letting go – which can indeed feel difficult or heart-breaking. Know that the little girl is on her own path. Hold her at the centre. Ask: what would SHE want?

Golly, the same goes for the mother in the other case I’m working on. She has dementia, and doesn’t know that her children – who adore her – are in pain and disharmony around her care. It helps to think about asking, “What would she want?”

20. What Is the Peace of God?

M-20.3.3 God’s peace can never come where anger is, for anger must deny that peace exists. 4 Who sees anger as justified in any way or any circumstance proclaims that peace is meaningless, and must believe that it cannot exist. 5 In this condition, peace cannot be found. 6 Therefore, forgiveness is the necessary condition for finding the peace of God. 7 More than this, given forgiveness there must be peace.

M-20.6. What is the peace of God? 2 No more than this; the simple understanding that His Will is wholly without opposite. 3 There is no thought that contradicts His Will, yet can be true.

Thank you. Dear Inner Being – dear heart of my soul – dear voice of my wisdom… download into me your advice for my day…

It is not for us to tell you how to live your life, just as it not for you to tell others how to live theirs, or how to think, or how to believe. Do not go into this conversation today with a ‘belief’ or a ‘position’, God forbid. Nor should you go feeling that ‘success’ will involve persuading one person to see another way. Heaven forbid! Success will involve nothing more than greater unity between the couple. Unity – mutual understanding – mutual respect – tenderness – compassion – empathy… They both need better to understand each other. If you can help them hear each other as purely and cleanly as they might hear a pin dropping in forest, you will have had the ‘success’ you seek.

Drop expectation at the door. Act as a servant of communication. Undertake to give of your best, and to love each one purely and without judgment. Hang on each person’s every word. Be the listener, and you will hear God’s voice through the mouths of these adoring parents.

Listen for unity. You will find it, for Unity is the will of God, and God’s will is all there truly is. In truth, Unity is all there is, for Oneness is the nature of God, and that Oneness is expressed as Love – and reached via Forgiveness. Listen for forgiveness, and you will hear Love, and thus you will reach Oneness which is the manifestation on Unity.

Beautiful. Thank you.

I am listening for unity – for unity is all there is

Pivot 139: I am seeing the perfection in each person

I’m not sure I was hugely swooning per se, but I did have some gorgeous times in nature – walking, gardening, qigonging… I noticed and remembered how, in nature:

  • there is no casting judgment – no good/bad – no shame or guilt
  • no overcomplicating – things are as simple as they can be, be that richly complex sometimes

Glossary: ‘magic thoughts’ in ACIM

Thoughts which claim that we can be saved by our own separate will, by certain special people, by various external things—by anything other than the miracle, the Will of God healing our minds. The teacher of God will encounter magic thoughts in his pupils and must learn how to react to them without anger. Found only in sections 17 and 18 in the Manual. See magic.

A Course in Miracles – Manual for Teachers – 17. How Do God’s Teachers Deal with Magic Thoughts?

M-17.1. This is a crucial question both for teacher and pupil. 2 If this issue is mishandled, the teacher of God has hurt himself and has also attacked his pupil. 3 This strengthens fear, and makes the magic seem quite real to both of them. 4 How to deal with magic thus becomes a major lesson for the teacher of God to master.

A Course in Miracles – Manual for Teachers – 18. How Is Correction Made?

M-18.4. In order to heal, it thus becomes essential for the teacher of God to let all his own mistakes be corrected. 2 If he senses even the faintest hint of irritation in himself as he responds to anyone, let him instantly realize that he has made an interpretation that is not true. 3 Then let him turn within to his eternal Guide, and let Him judge what the response should be. 4 So is he healed, and in his healing is his pupil healed with him. 5 The sole responsibility of God’s teacher is to accept the Atonement for himself. 6 Atonement means correction, or the undoing of errors. 7 When this has been accomplished, the teacher of God becomes a miracle worker by definition. 8 His sins have been forgiven him, and he no longer condemns himself. 9 How can he then condemn anyone? 10 And who is there whom his forgiveness can fail to heal?

I see how I have got in the habit of allowing in ‘the faintest hint of irritation’, or outright judging people… essentially for their and my having ‘magic thoughts’! This has been a barrier to my development I can now see. The healing (ie. ceasing of condemnation ie. atonement ie perception of innocence of all beings including me) starts in my mind. May my perception arise to see only gentle innocence in all. As nature does.

What is your message for me today, please?

Whenever you see an ‘error’ in your path, note that; correct your perception, and walk on. There are no errors in reality. All is at its perfect state of evolution. If, and we know that this is a big if, you can be at peace with ‘where people are’ then you really have something to offer them. If you cannot forgive them for being where they are, then know that you are hurting both them and yourself. Remember that phrase: Everyone Is Doing Their Best. This is not to be cast over or made ironic. Even if someone is much, much mistaken in their perception, they are doing their best, and frankly it is not your role to cast aspersions if they are not ‘level’ with you. Or if they are not responding to your prompts to ‘level up’.

What if time is pressing for people to make a shift in their perception? What if it’s a life and death situation, as it is for one of my clients?

Each person has a set of lessons they wish to learn in this life. If the lesson you perceive they ‘need to learn’ is not in this lifetimes’ set, it may well be in the next. Leave them to it – and love them unconditionally in their seeming ‘error’. Seriously, can you bring unconditional love to each person you see? If you can, you can be of service. If their ‘slow development’ distresses you – or worse, if you perceive it might put you in a bad light professionally because you don’t manage to ‘correct’ them in time – then you are adding vinegar to their perfect pudding. You are often as much ‘client’ as they are. In fact, you can leave that word, and use ‘brother’ or ‘sister’ and you will be better placed to progress. If, if, if you can see the perfection of that person, without words or persuasion… If you can but witness their perfection… then in the realms of possibility, you will have opened wide the possibility of the person seeing their own perfection, of accepting their perfection, of accepting atonement as it is offered. Can you see the perfection in each person?

Yes! I need to slow down, and attune to people, don’t I? And I need to weed out hints of criticism or judgment or other automatic knee-jerks (emphasis on jerk) about others in myself, sharpish! I need to hold them in perfection in my mind. I can. I will.

I am holding each person in perfection

I am seeing the perfection in each person

Pivot 138: I am swooning with nature

Thank you for that lesson yesterday. It gave me the wherewithal to pull out of a workshop I didn’t feel comfortable about. My bodily barometer felt heavy and negative about the prospect of attending (online) – so I heard the message. And, trusting that ‘holy are we’, I assumed that everyone else attending the workshop was there for their best interests, and that I didn’t need to ‘feel bad’ or get involved in judgment. As it was, my excusing myself two hours in advance seemingly precipitated two (of the other five) excusing themselves too.

I should add that what really finally made me decide to ditch the workshop was actually my 20yo daughter who looked me squarely and lovingly in the eyes and said, “There’s no point in taking part in something that’s going to perpetuate a false narrative of your worth. Mum, you’re better than that workshop.” These young beings… Oh, my wondrous daughters… You were right yesterday about Source evolving through us. These next generations are Human 2.0… They are born with new knowledge and such beautiful, immaculate qualities of compassion, justice and truth. They resonate with the phrase ‘Holy Are We’ so clearly.

Shall we go in?

Beautiful chapter; beautiful meditation.

A Course in Miracles – Manual for Teachers – 16. How Should the Teacher of God Spend His Day?

M-16.1. To the advanced teacher of God this question is meaningless. 2 There is no program, for the lessons change each day. 3 Yet the teacher of God is sure of but one thing; they do not change at random. 4 Seeing this and understanding that it is true, he rests content. 5 He will be told all that his role should be, this day and every day. 6 And those who share that role with him will find him, so they can learn the lessons for the day together. 7 Not one is absent whom he needs; not one is sent without a learning goal already set, and one which can be learned that very day. 8 For the advanced teacher of God, then, this question is superfluous. 9 It has been asked and answered, and he keeps in constant contact with the Answer. 10 He is set, and sees the road on which he walks stretch surely and smoothly before him.

It’s like these DoDs are me capturing my daily lesson. And look, this chapter even uses the phrase ‘quiet time’ which is the phrase I use for this time (MyQT):

M-16.4.7 Perhaps the one generalization that can be made is this; as soon as possible after waking take your quiet time, continuing a minute or two after you begin to find it difficult. 8 You may find that the difficulty will diminish and drop away. 9 If not, that is the time to stop. M-16.5. The same procedures should be followed at night. 2 Perhaps your quiet time should be fairly early in the evening, if it is not feasible for you to take it just before going to sleep.

I like the concept of keeping ‘in constant contact with the Answer’. This chapter talks about ‘giving the day to God’ and there being ‘no substitution for the Will of God’. Can I ask? Here, can we see God and the Will of God to being akin to what Abraham calls the Inner Being. Or Source? How to re-translate this to our newer understandings of God?

Source is God, or Infinite Intelligence, or Source Energy, or Love’s Origin, or Creative Force. Your Inner Being is the part of you which is still resting in that original Source frequency. It is the part that ‘stayed behind’ when you came to the physical plane, and yet, because it therefore it is not bound by the rules of physicality, it also came with you!

So aligning with your Inner Being is your fastest, purest, unique route to aligning with Source. The Will of God is simply ‘the path of least resistance’. So, yes, keeping in constant contact with your Inner Being (by finding what feels good and satisfying and relieving) is your best way of knowing what is ‘the Will of God’ for you in that holy instant.

Lovely. Awesome. Beautiful. I heard Abraham talking about aligning with Source Energy and how it felt to her like what spiritualists call ‘swooning’. Can you tell me about my body – this high-tech barometer – and the physical sensations around raising one’s vibration to align with our Inner Being or with Source?

Sure thing. Relax! That’s it. Just relax a little. As you reduce resistance (aka effort) your cork floats. So chill out. Just take the foot off the accelerator. Float about. Day dream around a bit. Live in flow. Put a hippy skirt on and feel it float. Whenever you feel yourself pushing, forcing or achieverising, relax, flow, float. Take the pressure off. Might that feel like swooning? Fine! Good on ya’. For someone who has been running a marathon, standing still might feel like fainting. That’s fine. It won’t after a while. It’ll all feel normal. The same with you. Cease the push, adjust to the sensation of standing still, and ground your sweet self there. Like a tree.

So, welcome the swoon?

Welcome the swoon of relaxation, and breathe it out, and dance it out, and lie on the grass and welcome the bright, brilliant vibration that nature lives in every day. Aligning with nature – which goes so slowly it will feel like swooning to you – is the fastest way to learn how to cease resistance. Go and garden. Learn to swoon from the flowers. Swoon with nature.

Epic and beautiful. Thank you. I will do this lovely thing today. Swoon with nature. Love it.

I am swooning with nature

Pivot 137: I am re-minding myself: ‘Holy are we’

***ACIM-MT15+10minMed***

M-15.1.15  Holy are you, eternal, free and whole, at peace forever in the Heart of God. 12 Where is the world, and where is sorrow now?

Speak to me of this, please.

Each single soul, through and beyond life, is judged as ‘sinless’ by Infinite Intelligence. Sinlessness is the human condition, but the world would have it otherwise. The experience of life is the experience of dissolving the veils of consciousness to reveal the pure, sinless, perfection of each soul. This is indeed God meeting and knowing Itself.

Is this what the Earth plane was created for?

Essentially so.

Why?

The Earth plane is a playground of evolving consciousness. It really is the cutting edge, or ‘leading edge’ as Abraham would say, of Source Energy revealing itself to itself.

This internal evolution of Source is so interesting to me.

It would be even more interesting if you truly believed yourself to be a speck of Source revealing itself back to the original Self.

Yes. I imagine that belief would be quite the rollercoaster…!!

… … …

Ok, so… Is my mind even capable of conceiving that belief though? Isn’t that the purpose of the mind? To exist with inbuilt obsolescence when it comes to actually seeing things as they truly are? Isn’t the mind designed to be the actual blinkers to our true knowing?

While the mind can not see beyond its own engineered parameters, the body is capable of sensing so much more. The mind is like a weather vane, picking up changing winds and spinning in reaction to passing breezes. But the body, on the other hand, is the most high tech barometer ever conceptualised, capable of sensing micro-vibrations, and forecasting future weather patterns, and constantly attuning to the actuality of the Now moment.

The weather vane pivots, and the barometer auto-attunes…

The body is the Here/Now moment vehicle. That is why you came here in physical form, to experience Here/Now within the whirlpool of There/Then. What a richly vivid, satisfying experience.

But you gotta not get entangled in the whirlpool of There/Then!

Sounds like fun, eh?! This is where the teachings of ACIM give you a helpful tip: do not believe the ‘judgments’ of the whirlpool of There/Then. You can consider those judgments as rocks proclaiming themselves to be buoyancy aids within the whirlpool of There/Then. Those judgments say, ‘You’re drowning! Grab one of us and we will stop you from sinking!’ In actual fact, a) you are not drowning, and b) those ‘judgements’ will weigh you right down.

So the game of life is really about not engaging with the siren voices of judgment?

Any thought which sees you as imperfect is a siren voice.

I know that ACIM expands on this… But help me out with a phrase I can work with here.

Say to yourself, ‘Holy am I, eternal, free and whole, at peace forever in the Heart of God.‘ Or even just, ‘Holy am I.’ Let these words flow through your mind on repeat, and see what happens to your barometer.

Man alive. Ok. I hear you. I’ll work with this. I trust you, and ACIM.

Holy am I.

Holy am I.

Holy am I.

I am prepared to see what happens when I repeat this, with the intention of letting it in. May I find the fun in this! And not take it too seriously..! I do believe we are all holy creatures. I have gained real insight at periods of my life (mainly through ACIM) when I have ‘insisted’ on seeing the holiness of all beings – including those my mind would judge as wrong or bad.

Excellent, then let’s level this up. Say: ‘holy are we’. And let it apply to each being you see, meet and even think of. Re-mind yourself of the perfection of all beings. All beings are Source knowing itself in all aspects. All is forgiven. All is forgiven. All are holy upon this Earth.

I am re-minding myself: ‘Holy are we’

Pivot 136: I am running with the fun of it

So of course the last couple of days have been a merry explosion of ‘invitations’ to attack thoughts…! It’s been interesting to watch myself slip and slide into expressing criticism of others… behind their back. Sometimes I’d see my spoken criticism about others as ‘letting off steam’… I think it’s still a poor use of my voice. Cannot I not let off steam with a bit of a walk or bike ride instead? Why do I need to levy my heavy complaints at my beloved housemates? They don’t need that in their day! There’s some vibrational housekeeping for me to do here!

All that said, most of the time, my complaints have been expelled and let go of quickly, and I have been in good spirits – super productive and less likely to follow the flibbertigibbets. I’m really pleased and grateful for this. I feel Abraham – listened to daily over lockdown! – is re-educating my spirit and mind. And body… as I literally feel the wellbeing in my body. Tysm Abraham.

Today. Let’s go in.

***ACIM-MT14+7minMed***

Oh wow…. ACIM-MT14 is exquisite! For me this chapter encapsulates the whole of ACIM sublimely. Just this quote alone is so rich in meaning to me…

M-14.2. Until forgiveness is complete, the world does have a purpose. 2 It becomes the home in which forgiveness is born, and where it grows and becomes stronger and more all-embracing. 3 Here is it nourished, for here it is needed.

I was reminded – thank you! – of how ‘forgiveness’ underpins my work! I am in the business of forgiveness. THAT is why I went into mediation – not ‘just’ because I wanted to give a voice to vulnerable people. I originally knew that mediation was about fostering, brokering, midwifing, birthing… forgiveness!

And in that moment of remembrance, like unleashing the next level in a game, I got a vision of the social media posts I’ve been trying to understand for my new initiative SoD. It’s about quotes! It’s about sayings! People – we – need new phrases, new scripts, new question formats in order to be able to speak deeply to one another.

In teaching mental health first aid this week, I told my participants, ‘the best thing you can do in this course is capture sentences/phrases/questions which you can use in your conversations with someone in crisis.’ It’s the same in the suicide prevention training I do, and the new bereavement training I gave yesterday. People need new phrases in their repertoire. And that is what I’ve been collecting all my life, I believe.

As an autistic person who can sense more than she can easily express, and who  conversely is hit hard by the dull thud of others’ insensitive speech, over time I have made a project of collecting ways of expressing what I want to say, truthfully and yet sensitively. I am by no means there. But I have a library of sayings… and an appetite for more. It’s what made my plays take off too… the sayings… especially verbatim from people I was working with… The scripts. That’s what we are talking about.

***

So, I’ve just started a new note book for SoD Sayings…. or Scripts? idk yet.

I’m running late and haven’t let you get a word in edgeways yet…

What a fantastically fun project you are unleashing here. We love it. Run with the fun of it!

My SoD Sayings notebook? Thank you!! I will.

Today is indeed about FUN. Run with the fun of it. That is all for today!

Gotcha! And hats off to my beloved Mum who knew this all along!

I am running with the fun of it
