MEDS Day 9: Today I am walking in the spirit of peace

Today, I’m going to Spain to see my parents. I’m feeling a little tense about the journey and leaving the house and keeping up with my work for next week. What do I need to know today?

Today, it’s fine to play one of the imaginary games, where we take an ideal scenario and act it out.

Ah, yes. Like we played TV presenters. Today I am playing….

Peace pilgrim.

Not like Peace Pilgrim. She was something else. (And she took no cabin luggage with her..!)

No, not exactly like Peace Pilgrim . But take this with you.. {Go back to that web page on her life…}

“From 1953 until 1981, a silver haired woman calling herself only “Peace Pilgrim” walked more than 25,000 miles on a personal pilgrimage for peace. Wearing a blue tunic and carrying just a comb and toothbrush, she shared her simple but profound message in thousands of communities throughout the U.S.: when enough of us find inner peace, our institutions will become peaceful and there will be no more occasion for war. Today, her words – captured in books, videos and other media – continue to inspire people around the world.”

What stands out?

When enough of us find inner peace…” I could cry. It’s beautiful.

Well, you need not play Peace Pilgrim but you can walk in her spirit today.

Yes, I will be moving about today, and crossing national borders… I can walk in the spirit of peace. I can use my movement to cultivate inner peace. Thank you so much.

You can walk in the spirit of Peace Pilgrim

I’m shy about using that phrase…

That’s fine. You can walk in the spirit of peace.

“Today I am walking in the spirit of peace “

Meditation:

Pranic Healing Meditation
Pranic Healing Meditation

This was truly beautiful. I love the using of the hands to transmit loving kindness to the world. I love the use of the peace prayer. I love the golden flame in the crown of the head. I’m getting in to using meditation as part of healing again, largely to listening to Dr Joe Dispenza on the power of meditation to change our energy field, our brain functioning and, most significantly, our epigenetics.

Exercise:

Ho hum…. 4k steps around airports. It wouldn’t have hurt me to do 10mins Qigong with YouTube. Remember: that’s the first next thing when we get up from meditation.

Diet:

  • Coffee with milk…. and honey :/
  • Brunch: Chips, peas and tuna :// No fresh food in…
  • En route to Spain: Half a lager at the airport, airplane wine and Pringles, whole celery, popcorn, some chocolate… :////
  • Evening: Welcomed in at midnight with salmon, rice and asparagus. And a large glass of white wine.
  • I have nothing else to say on the matter other than that I am at least being honest with myself!!

Sleep:

  • Screens off: 1.30am
  • Lights out: 1.31am
  • Wake up the next day: 9am
  • Total sleep: Awake quite a bit with the heat, so 6/7 hours

Evening Notes: The ‘walking in the spirit of peace’ mode was lovely, especially when it came to difficulties with travel – queues, uncertainties, aggravated passengers/staff… People respond to our own manner so much, whether positive or negative. I really felt that an intention to stay in ‘peace’ mode brought out such warmth and generosity in the people I interacted with. It’s different to people-pleasing-style transactions of ‘niceness’. This is about remaining unruffled no matter the circumstance, and that mode giving the other person a sense of calm and trust within your space.
